Аннотация:

The article analyzes the origins of the establishment and major stages of development of the Association of South-East Asian nations (АSЕАN). Through studying the most significant international acts adopted within the framework of АSЕАN, peculiar characteristics inherent in each stage of the Association development have been brought to light. It has been concluded that the adoption in 2007 of the АSЕАN Charter has led to the transformation of this international forum into a full-fledged international intergovernmental organization.
